HEART project by SenseGlove and Aeon Robotics

SenseGlove, a leader in haptic force-feedback technology, and Aeon Robotics, an innovator in robotic manipulation, announce the HEART Project, a groundbreaking initiative within the EU-funded MasterXR framework. This collaboration integrates virtual reality (VR), force-feedback haptic gloves (SenseGlove project Rembrandt), and robotic systems (Aeon Robotics’ HandEffector) to enable intuitive control and real-time force feedback, making robotic training more accessible and effective.

A Breakthrough in Automation and Training

Industries such as production, logistics, and electronics struggle with automating tasks due to changing product demands and the complexity of programming robots. The HEART Project eliminates these barriers by introducing an AI-enhanced tele-operated teaching platform, allowing users with minimal experience to train and operate robots through an immersive VR interface.

By combining XR, AI, and tele-robotic technologies, the project simplifies robot programming, making automation safer, more flexible, and more scalable. Users can train robots remotely, improving workplace safety and reducing environmental impact. This initiative will foster a new generation of automation specialists and drive the Industry 4.0 revolution forward.

Impact and Key Innovations

  • Scientific and Technological Advancements: The system enables remote access to robotic infrastructure, enhances teleoperation with active force- and visual feedback. Combining advanced data collection methods withAI-driven robot teaching tools to enhance precision and simplify automation.
  • Increased Productivity and Safety: Intuitive control reduces training time while ensuring precise and safe robotic interactions, improving operational efficiency.
  • Business and Economic Growth: The project strengthens the market position of SenseGlove and Aeon Robotics, expanding the adoption of their technologies and creating sustainable revenue through software licensing.
  • European Leadership in Robotics: This initiative positions Europe at the forefront of humanoid robotic advancements, competing with dominant players in the USA and China.

SenseGlove and Aeon Robotics have set clear measurement goals to track the project’s success and ensure its impact on robotic training and automation.

Measuring Success: Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Ease of Integration: A Unity developer can set up a robotic teaching scenario in VR with haptic gloves using the MasterXR studio.
  • User-Friendly Training: An untrained operator can learn to use the system and teach a robot a complex task within one hour.
  • Autonomous Execution: The robot successfully performs tasks taught by an untrained operator.
